How I Work with Clients

I work one-on-one with the leader/manager.

I interact with people at all levels in the organization.

I adapt my style to fit the personality of the leader/manager.

I help choose processes that are compatible with the company’s culture and style.

I focus on ways to get project and product information flowing and using that feedback for learning. This improves how the managers and engineers work.

My philosophy is to emphasize the strengths of the organization and the people, and to select a few measures that will be useful as feedback in processes that are already working. When new processes are needed, I believe in getting the key people involved in the development of the new processes.

I believe that most product development organizations have people who know how to do their jobs. Management’s primary responsibility is to provide the tools and information they need, and then get out of the way. Well-intentioned management actions often get in the way of effective development work.

Who is an ideal client for me?

The ideal client is trying to build an organization that lasts; knows that it requires a consistent set of tools, processes and management skills; is willing to try proven things, and is committed to taking action.
